The top 50 meeting destinations announced
Come on Fort Lauderdale. A huge events company has recently evaluated over one thousand cities to determine a top fifty list. Where are the best places to hold your meeting, conference or event?
Surely Fort Lauderdale is high on the list, if not in the lead?
Here are the top ten:
Orlando
Washington DC
Las Vegas
Miami
Chicago
San Diego
Phoenix
Altanta
Dallas
New Orleans
Fort Lauderdale, where are you? I’ll tell you – number thirty. Not good enough is it? What does Orlando have that we don’t? Well, yes, there is that, but nevertheless …
In Florida Kissimmee, Hollywood and Tampa rank before Fort Lauderdale. There is something very wrong here – we are the Venice of America. We are a wonderful mix of the historical and the absolutely bang up to date. We have fabulous hotels and amenities; we have Las Olas Boulevard and the Riverwalk, wonderful beaches, great cuisine, a boating culture, art and theater, parks and sports …
What am I missing here? Why aren’t WE number one?
