Talks, workshops and seminars
Something that I was often asked during the First Wave exhibition is if Andy is available for talks, workshops and so on. The answer is that not only is he available, it’s something he loves to do. He is incredibly enthusiastic about his iPhoneography, marine wildlife and Florida and is an entertaining speaker.
What’s more, because he has been sharing his images via social media, he loves to talk about (and teach) that too. His work and his enthusiasms are relevant to many groups – student groups, conservation organizations, photography clubs, businesses, museums & galleries and many more.
With everyone being so much more environmentally aware these days talks about marine life, the ocean, shore birds, beaches, shells … all are widely appealing. He has also taught businesses and event organizers how to promote and share their events in real time.
And Andy is not one of those artists who don’t like to give away their ‘trade secrets’. As a pioneer in the field of iPhonegraphy, he is actually an ambassador for the medium and happy to teach others and show them tips and tricks. Events can range from simple talks to full-blown two day workshop sessions. A great event is for your group to join Andy as he walks the beach, photographing and informally teaching along the way.
Of course, the next question always is, how much does this cost? And like everyone always does, I’m doing to say ‘it depends’. Of course a two or three day workshop session would cost more than a talk lasting just an hour. (Although I’m not convinced that Andy can do a one-hour talk! Once you get him started, his enthusiasm can keep him going for hours
) We are always interested in talks and workshops for non-profits and will charge expenses-only for such events – although an honorarium to support his work is always welcomed.
If you’re interested in a talk, workshop or seminar, get in touch and let us know what you are thinking about for your event. We’ll be happy to work something out and plan a great event for you!
