Meet the artist

Usually, when you see a title like that, it’s probably going to be one of two things. Either the artist is going to be at an event or exhibition and you can go along to meet him or her. Or you’re going to find that the page has the artist’s bio and photographs.

Often, those photographs will be carefully posed – showing the artist with various artwork or in the process of creating their art.

Sorry but we don’t have any of those.

But when I saw the photograph below I HAD to post it here because this way you’ll really get to know what we’re like. (And if the word ‘daft’ comes to mind, that’s fine). The photograph was taken by Robin Haines Merrill who, along with her husband Mark Merrill are artists working from Las Olas Boulevard in Fort Lauderdale – our area. If you’re in the area, I recommend that you call in to see them at Mission Gifts | The Upper Room Gallery.

The photograph was taken at the fantastic FAT Village here in Fort Lauderdale. It was a great event – Build a Better Block. We love FAT Village and go regularly for their art walks. Now I don’t want you to think that food is all we live for – there is art too, after all – but here were are indulging in one of our favorite pastimes; eating street food from a very gourmet grilled cheese food truck :)
