Happy Star Wars Day
Yes, today is Star Wars Day. You know how much I like ‘days’ as ideas for promotions. They are a great opportunity for low-cost promotions and, more importantly, press releases. There are so many great excuses for promotion. So why is today Star Wars Day?
It’s not tricky to work out. You remember the catchphrase from Star Wars, don’t you? “May the force be with you”. Today is May the fourth. May the fourth be with you. Yes!
Are you having some amazing promotions? Are you showing the movie? Are you offering kids light sabers? All over the world, companies are offering Star Wars themed e-cards. There are theme parties planned. The movie was made in 1977 – what was your company, or owner or GM doing then? Whatever it was, post it to your social media accounts. (That’s where the nerds live!)
Even the rather po-faced Daily Telegraph in the UK is reporting Star Wars Day events. Are you holding costume contests? Are you serving a special cocktail? (The Douglas Adams pan-galactic gargle blaster is perfect!)
Happy Star Wars Day!
