Framing your art
Recently, I wrote about the fact that we are happy to sell prints that are unframed. Although we have our own preferences about how our prints are best presented we realize that you do too – after all the prints are going into your home or your office!
We have our artwork in our home and it’s always on a white mat in a black frame and it suits our decor perfectly but it might not suit yours. My brother for example, has all his artwork in heavy gilded frames and that suits his home and decor.
We love the clean lines of the white mat and the black frames but it would be a strange world if we all had the same tastes. If you are buying artwork as a gift, then unframed is often better as the recipient can select their own colors. (In fact. sometimes I think that black and white prints are an even safer bet as a gift.
In addition, we are also planning to make gift certificates available – if you’re not sure exactly which prints your friend would like – we have the answer!
I know that it’s hard to visualize what prints will look like when framed so I asked Andy to do a few mock-ups of a few prints we are going to make available shortly. I have also been asked about sizes recently. Yes, we can help you get the print of your choice in the size you wish, that is no problem. However, it’s important to remember that a limited edition means just that. When we say that a print is limited to an edition of 33 (Andy’s favorite number!) we mean that only 33 will ever be printed. These may differ in size depending on what our collectors ask for but again (sorry for repeating myself but I want to make the point clearly) only 33 will be printed. Ever.
See below for different option examples but remember, with the combination of frames and mats, the possibilities are endless.
